The Talbot Inn Hotel is one of England’s finest coaching inns, and has for centuries played its part in history. The inn is said to have provided the stage for Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton’s love affair to blossom in 1798. The Talbot Inn Hotel itself dates back to 1453, when it first opened as a coaching inn for people commuting from London to Portsmouth.
The Talbot offers plenty of charm and has 43 bedrooms, a restaurant, a bar with a large garden and sunny south facing terrace.

Covid-19 Response
We have to adapt the business to current cleaning regulations in terms of sanitasation of the bedrooms. In the bar and restaurant we have removed tables to guarantee social distancing and we have also created a one way system. Click here to find out more.
