The Anchor
The Anchor is a popular food led pub serving simple, creative, classically inspired dishes. With local guest beers on tap, plenty of local gins and laid back, comfortable decor, the Anchor offers a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to unwind with friends.
We pride ourselves on being a casual, low key and enjoyable high class dining experience, with no stuffiness or pretense - just excellent ingredients, outstanding service and a beautiful environment.
Since opening in December 2013 The Anchor has a received multiple awards including a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand, 2 AA Rosettes and Surrey Life food and drink restaurant of the year 2017. It's also the only Surrey pub listed in the Good Food Guide.
Meet the owner - Mike Wall-Palmer
I have been a chef for over 16 years, mainly in high end Michelin star restaurants, including stages in some of the countries best restaurants. The time came in my life and career to lead not just a kitchen team, but to show myself and my personality and have the creative freedom & controls.
freedom and creativity it gives, as well as feeling part of the village and being one of the reasons people visit Ripley.

Monday, closed
Tuesday to Friday, kitchen open 12pm to 2:30pm & 5:30pm - 9pm, bar closes 11pm
Saturday, kitchen open 12pm - 9:30pm, bar closes 11pm
Sunday, 12pm - 8pm, bar closes 9pm
Bookings recommended (especially under current circumstances) but definitely not essential.
Covid-19 Response
Spreading out of tables and bookings, reduction of number of tables. reduction in maximum guests per table. sanitiser on entry, social distancing. cheaper set lunch menu, and menu in general, in response to people potentially losing jobs and or disposable income
